6 Reasons to Choose a Grey Paint Color!
One of my favorite anchor colors to use when designing a space in a new home
is grey. I have probably used way more than 50 shades
of it over the years and I could probably list just as many reasons (or more) of why I like to use it, but here’s six of my favorites.
- Grey Showcases your furniture. Grey is a perfect neutral backdrop to really help your Inside the Design Dining Roomfurniture stand out.
- It Makes your accent colors really pop! Because grey is a neutral, most people like to use a couple of accent colors with it and it really helps to highlight your accent colors. Blue, green, orange, yellow, orange…really, you can’t go wrong with any accent color that you put with grey.
- Grey is gender-neutral. Not only is grey a neutral color, it’s also gender-neutral so it helps to balance out the masculinity and femininity of a space (and every space should have both qualities to keep the balance!).
- Grey is crisp and clean. Grey has a tendency to effortlessly appear both crisp and clean. No matter if you choose a warm or cool tone of it, it always comes out looking fresh and clean.
- Grey isn’t always an attention grabber, but it’s almost always an attention giver. Grey tends to be perfectly content with letting other items steal the spotlight, like your trim work. It helps showcase your trim work (especially white trim), adding helpful dimension to your space. I love when detailed crown molding get its due respect.
- Grey fits in anywhere! Grey is a color that fits in with most all design styles, making it the perfect backdrop for mixing and comingling styles.

Do you remember going to a Greenville Braves game at the Greenville Municipal Stadium? I know I do, they were such a major staple here in the city before we were the “booming metropolis” in the state. So many nights at the park with my glove, Greenville Braves hat, and a bunch of those ice creams in the upside down helmet (you know what I’m talking about). The team had their highs and lows throughout the years, with arguably their best season coming in 1992.
